Terms of Service

Last updated: 17 June 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SaltWave platform ("Platform") operated by TalosNexa LLC ("SaltWave", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing the Platform you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, have legal capacity to enter into contracts, and accept these Terms in full. If you use the Platform on behalf of a company or organisation, you warrant that you are authorised to bind that entity.

2. Description of services

SaltWave is an online marketplace that connects travellers ("Guests") with licensed boat operators and skippers ("Providers"). SaltWave facilitates booking and payment but is not itself a sailing or transportation operator. The contract for the sailing service is between the Guest and the Provider.

We offer three booking types:

  • Shared Sailing: Guests book individual berths on a trip with other passengers.
  • Private Charter (crewed): Guests charter the full vessel with a skipper included.
  • Bareboat Charter: Guests charter a vessel without a skipper. A valid sailing licence is required.

3. User accounts

You must provide accurate and complete information when registering. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@saltwave.gr if you suspect unauthorised access.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or harm other users.

4. Bookings and contracts

A booking request sent by a Guest is an offer to contract. The contract is formed when the Provider accepts the booking and SaltWave issues a booking confirmation email. Until that moment, no contract exists.

Guests are responsible for ensuring that all passengers hold appropriate travel documents and insurance. Providers are responsible for ensuring their vessel and crew comply with all applicable maritime regulations.

5. Payments and commission

All payments are processed by Stripe Inc. via Stripe Connect. By using the Platform, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.

SaltWave charges a 15% commission on the value of each completed booking. This fee is deducted automatically before the Provider receives their payout. The commission covers platform costs, payment processing, and guest support.

Prices displayed include all platform fees unless stated otherwise. Greek VAT (24%) applies where required by law.

6. Cancellation policy

The following cancellation policy applies unless a Provider specifies a stricter policy in their listing:

  • More than 30 days before departure: Full refund.
  • 15–30 days before departure: 50% refund.
  • Less than 15 days before departure: No refund.

If a Provider cancels a confirmed booking, the Guest receives a full refund plus a 10% credit toward a future booking.

In cases of force majeure (severe weather, strikes, etc.) we will facilitate rescheduling but cannot guarantee refunds beyond the standard policy.

7. Provider obligations

Providers must:

  • Hold all required maritime licences and certificates for their vessel and crew.
  • Maintain valid insurance covering passenger liability.
  • Ensure the vessel is seaworthy and meets all applicable safety standards.
  • Deliver the service substantially as described in their listing.
  • Complete Stripe Connect onboarding before receiving payouts.

Providers are independent contractors. They are not employees or agents of SaltWave.

8. Reviews

Guests may leave reviews after completing a booking. Reviews must be honest, factual, and not defamatory. SaltWave may remove reviews that violate our community guidelines. We do not edit the content of reviews.

9. Intellectual property

All content on the Platform — including design, code, logos, and text — is owned by TalosNexa LLC and protected by Greek and EU intellectual property law. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute Platform content without prior written permission.

By uploading photos or content to the Platform, you grant SaltWave a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use that content for Platform purposes and marketing.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Greek law, SaltWave's liability for any claim arising from use of the Platform is limited to the amount paid by the claimant in the 12 months preceding the claim.

SaltWave is not liable for: personal injury or death arising from sailing activities; loss or damage to personal property on board; delays, weather cancellations, or itinerary changes; or indirect, special, or consequential losses.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Athens, Greece.

Before initiating legal proceedings, you agree to attempt to resolve disputes through our support team. EU residents also have access to the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will provide at least 14 days' notice of material changes via email or Platform notification. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
